Background and Experiences
My interest in P–12 teaching and learning developed through years of hands-on experience working with students, families, and colleagues within my educational community in Savannah, GA. As a practicing educator, I have witnessed firsthand how effective instruction, strong relationships, and culturally responsive practices can positively influence student achievement and well-being. These experiences have shaped my commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments where all students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed.

Reason for Enrolling in the MSED Program
I enrolled in the Master of Science in Education (MSED) program to strengthen my instructional practice, expand my leadership capacity, and deepen my understanding of research-based strategies that support student success. The program allows me to connect theory to practice while reflecting critically on my role as an educator and advocate for positive change. My decision to pursue this degree was inspired by colleagues, mentors, and students who challenged me to think beyond my classroom and consider the broader impact educators have on school culture and community growth. The MSED program supports my goal of becoming a more effective instructional leader who can contribute meaningfully to educational improvement initiatives within Savannah, GA

Addressing Challenges in P–12 Education
In today’s educational landscape, many schools face significant challenges, particularly regarding resource allocation and equitable access to quality education. In my own school setting in Savannah, GA, I’ve observed disparities in resources available to students interested in pursuing vocational training compared to those seeking traditional academic paths. This imbalance not only limits opportunities for students who thrive in hands-on learning environments but also perpetuates socioeconomic disparities within our communities.
